Members of the Yellowknife high performance cross country ski team stand in front of the newly installed trail sign commemorating the life of their team mate, John Tumchewics, who died one year ago in a helicopter crash. The team picked the most difficult corner on the high speed sprint trail developed for the 2008 Arctic Winter Games. John is reported to have missed this turn at one time and sailed over the embankment into the bush, without injury.
